The Appliachian Mountain Club has a bike group of retired men who ride a couple of times a week. Every one of them is pencil thin and I will be joining them before June 1st.
I had expected to retire March 31 but the enhanced incentive package fell through, so I will be "jumping with the regular parachute".

I retired at 56 the day after this past Christmas and my first two months (Jan and Feb) were terrible around here. January was colder than normal and Feburary was the snowiest on record so I was not able to get on the bike at all. March was better weather wise but, I decided to get a part time job for the extra money. Much of that month was spent going on interviews and filling out applications. Last week I started a new job (24 hrs aweek) at the same place I retired from. You add in yard work my other hobbies (photography, walking, hiking, cars and internet brousing) along with my newest interest disc golf and I have only added one day of riding a week. That gets me up to three days a week, so I am happy about that. If you are like me bicycling is not your only interest so even in retirement it becomes hard managing your time, even though you have more of it.

Before retirement we managed to ride 200 miles a week year 'round (we live in in the Southwest).
15 years into retirement manage to get in 100 miles a week.
Yes, we are also a bit older now (77/75).
