An overlooked point so far...........the cost of a Rube Goldberg glass cleaning machine chugging expensively if inefficiently up and down the roads could be so great over time that we won't be able to afford any N+1's. We may have to wait in line for repairs and parts...or simply be told by the road authorities that our old Univega SunTour just isn't worth investing with new Shimano. Of course, our richest riders will be able to go elsewhere for NOS or latest-greatest.

What seems like a great idea sometimes materializes in a Frankenstein-like way, and should be dismantled and rebuilt more wisely.


FWIW, cycling is such a complete analogy for Life....things always seem better on two wheels-- unless you hit a patch of glass
