Probably not but do plan to ride not to far away out of Tryon. I've already climbed Caesars Head this spring so I'm looking for some other hills to navigate.

This was a fantastic ride. Early in the season for so much climbing but still a lot of fun. The weather was perfect. Started out cool but warmed to the mid 60s. Blue skys and very few clouds. The first climb is a real challange but luckily it comes early so the legs were still pretty good. Walnut Creek road is a little over a mile climb with grades above 15%. I'm just glad it wasn't longer. Here a pic of the sign at the top...

Once over the top it was screaming downhills to a rolling parade thru the valley in South Carolina. Then we tuned back north to face the walls of Ceasar's Head. Here we are on the approach. We have to go over that in a 5 mile climb of switchbacks.

Once over the top it was about 15 miles of mostly downhill back to Brevard. If you get the chance this is a great ride providing the weather cooperates. I hear in years past they've done it in snow flurries.
My total time was 5 hours 8 minutes. I was about 4-1/2 on the bike. 65 miles with 6700 feet of climb. I'll never be a racer but sure had fun bombing downhill at 50 mph...

Yeah, it was a great day for a ride. Living in the area, I've never had the weekend free to do this ride before but I'm glad I made it this year. It's a beautiful course and it is always fun to ride over climbs and roads I haven't been on before.

It is a great ride-not too long with several descents that are about as much fun as they can be-fast but not too technical. If I had not have already climbed Caesar's Head twice this year I might have opted to do it. Just needed a change of scenery.

Andy - Was there, sorry I missed you. Was a GREAT ride, though a bit cool to start (TG for the new wool PAC Tour L/S jersey!). Walnut was a bit of a struggle, as my legs were still not warmed up and stiff from Tucson. Once I got loose, ran along pretty well, and felt good on Caesar's Head, managed to pass a fair number of riders on the way up. I'll be back!

Yeah, luckily I had my Team Ireland LS and borrowed an Under Armor Cold Gear layer. I only got too warm once on the Ceasars Head climb when I had the sun on me and no wind.

Had my "50+" wind jacket on, so pretty east to spot. Was up near the front. khackney- seem to remember seeing that Team Ireland jersey a couple of times.
