winter ride...
I can't get outside to ride now - and I'm feeling pretty bad about it. Since July, when I started, it's been an important part of every week, even while working away from home (at least I could ride on weekends).
There's just no way for this in the snow.
So, the bike is now rigged up on a trainer (Cyclops). This was the first weekend I haven't ridden. I'm getting stiff and weak already - oh no...
My wife thinks I'm nuts, so what's new?
Cheers,
Rich

Just make certain the I-Pod has enough music on it and that the cups of liquid refreshment are pre-ordered. And suffer like the rest of us.

Riding has officially moved in doors for me today too. I too am here in NH and with about 8+ inches of snow today, it wont be until the spring rains wash the salt away will I be back out.
In door training is not as much fun but I also stay fit as I referee basketball so at least I get some variety. Where is the sun and the heat wave!!!!

You just need a new pugsley...maybe a new wife...but a new pair of pugsleys might get your wife to understand the problem better
. (see my thread about a new xmas pugs for my wife... https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-pugs-for-wife )
If my wife and I can ride in the Winter in North Pole, Alaska, I'd bet you can pull off some Winter riding in the deep South.

Come visit us in Houston. We will find a bike for you to ride. The last several days have been cool (cold for southerners), but I still rode each day.

We had about 8 inches of snow and mostly it has melted already.
I went outside yesterday, rode for about an hour and enjoyed it. (it was 50F) I got everything covered with road sand and mud but still enjoyed it
Thanks for linking to xtranormal - it does resemble a common scene in my kitchen...
I dunno about the pugsley, but hats off to you digibud - new wife may be out of the question, I think she has poisoned me and feeds me the antidote as long as I don't go too far out of bounds.
I think I'll move to Arizona. We spent 6 months there (Sierra Vista), this time of year as I remember it, was warm enough to use the swimming pool (outdoors).

That's simply not true...I do it almost daily in conditions that cannot be much better than yours. Now....you may not have the resources to get the proper equipment, or you may not like the cold, or there could be a host of other reasons but it can be done.

ok ok - uncle
daredevil reminded me that this can be done in the snow.
I get it. But I don't think I will ride in snow. I'm scared enough of the 4 wheeled machines with distracted drivers in perfectly good conditions (sunlight, no obstacles like snow banks, clear surface <friction> etc.)
Hats off to you who ride in adverse conditions, but it's not for me.
I may move to a better climate...

btw, I generally stay out of any significant traffic in the winter.
