Bob Roll has a sense of humor but at the same time is a knowledgeable and very experienced commentator.
And yes, he's ridden more Tours de France than any of us posting here.

Even when Bob Rolle was racing, he was known as a jokester. Of course his "bazooka" joke is to the weapon in reference to blowing up the motorist that threaten him. He even makes a joke about wearing RoadID to bed in case an irate motorist follows him home.

Agree that he does a good job as commentator and appreciate knowing that he has an illustrious past in that incredible challenge. So, the answer to the OP (according to CB HI) is the bazooka reference was just a joke and he really was referring to an actual bazooka. (Could have used one myself yesterday when a woman honked and cut me off making a right turn in front of me).
