IOWA - Wabash Trace Nature Trail - Information Please
Anyone out there with recent experience on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail in Iowa?
Rail Trail information is a little old. Planning a 'maybe' trip this Summer/Fall that might include the region. Thanks in advance. |
Excellent trail. Since it was an old RR line, there are no steep hills and is generally level. A lot of places the path is two paths that is probably better for a bike than a trike, altho a trike will work. Lots of small towns with mom and pop cafes.

People do the ride on road bike in dry conditions but a 28mm tire or wider is really best. There is a new quality restaurant in Silver City I hear. It IS slightly uphll from Council Bluffs for about 6 miles but it isn't severe. As the trail goes south from Shenandoah, IA it is not as well used or maintained. |
