Birthday ride - Olympic Peninsula
A few pics of the 60th birthday ride, appropriately the longest of the year.
Always wanted to go to the NW tip of the lower 48. Check.
Nice ride, perfect weather - high around 60F, moderate winds.
Started in Sequim and rode to Neah Bay - and a few more just to get the century mileage. Fog rolling in kept me from making Cape Flattery.

The weather, low traffic made for an excellent ride. I did the ride on Monday (1 day after birthday) so tourist/RV traffic was low. Hwy 112 has lots of twists in spots so the cars, etc go relatively slow. No close calls. I went east to west so the loaded logging trucks were on the other side.
The pic of the day I missed was the 50+ guy doing the same ride on a unicycle. His wife was leapfrogging him in a car for support.
Best fun picture.

Bikes: the ever shifting stable loaded with comfortable road bikes and city and winter bikes
those logging trucks they smell like Christmas when they pass.
nice one, glad you ticked it off the list. If you go out those parts again, a loop closer in to start in sequim, include the discovery trail to PA, then up to 112 and include Salt Creek County Park and the historic military bunkers and beautiful beach there, the country store in Joyce, then over the Piedmont road to Lake Crescent - beautiful but short descent - and back to PA and Sequim on the discovery trail again from Lake Crescent is a nice road riding loop out those parts.
