Not necessarily so. My stepfather is 85 yrs. He is fit and trim, stands tall, stylishly dressed, well-groomed, always smells good, sharp as a tack, has a delightful sense of humour, and is thoughtful and caring. He is not old.

Let's see.......I learned in a nursing class that Older Adulthood begins after age 65; the next stage beyond that is Old Farthood.

We are close enough to a 1:1 exchange so, I don't think that is it. Doctors have pondered why the difference for a while though and some suggest our diet is better, weight (although increasing annually) is lower than in the US but the politicians like to claim it is the universal health care. Another idea floated was that being a winter nation, we tend to stay active year round. Personally, I think it is the nutritional benefits of superior blueberries.

I was reading a well respected medical journal recently and came across a study reporting a close link between a form of mental illness that leaves its victims unable to recognize themselves in a mirror and the consumption of blueberries laced with high levels of tannic acid, such as those miserable little pebbles packaged as a "Produit du Canada."
On the bright side, all that Artic air in Toronto creates a kind of cryopreservation. Basically, you may not know who you are, but at least you'll look youthful, notwithstanding the blue lips.

Overthehillmedi, it's good you have a fantasy life. Everyone know the world's best blueberries are found at the top of Red Rock Mountain, in the dried up lake bed of what was formerly Lake Rose, in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. A very second close are those from NJ.
