Early night

Did a gentle ride today down to the LBS and a few more miles to bring me up to 35 miles. No effort put in as I am on holiday and I have plenty of gardening to do. Got home and did a couple of hours but I guessed that my neighbour would want to ride and sure enough he did- so stopped gardening and out with the bike again. Only a 25 miler for coffee but I made a couple of mistakes.

First of all I forgot to refill the water bottle and there was not much left in it. Secondly I had no lunch as a Late breakfast and Pie at the cafe said that I would wait for dinner. Big mistake on both accounts.

Got to the seafront and coffee and I knew something was wrong. I did not want anything to eat. Refilled the bottle but I knew I was too late on hydration. We had to push on on the way back as the light was going to fail if we took a leisurely ride back. 5 miles from home and I had to slow down. Looooong time since I have bonked but I knew the signs and I was just heading for it. Got home and no dinner- I just did not feel like it. 2 pints of water later and I feel ok but I am shattered.

Nigh Night all- early night for me.

I ate a good breakfast this morning, oatmeal and a piece of bread with peanut butter. Still started feeling weak just before I went for my ride today, so drank a V8 on the way and made it fine. I usually have a banana for breakfast also, maybe my body was craving that.
