Two years ago my wife and I were out near Santa Cruz and visited the Redwoods. I can't say how bad I wanted to ride a bike through the forest. The smells, soils, vegetation and everything else was calling me to stay and play. You are lucky to live there.

Bar Harbor.
Here are a couple of photos that were taken atop Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia National Park, last year. I rode the park loop road, then the up to the top of the mountain for these photos, and my wife then meet me at the bottom, for a ride back to Bar Harbor (love the Thirsty Whale). There was just enough light for me to ride down (45+ mph) the mountain. What a glorious late October evening.
I was told that this was the Queen Mary 2 Ship.
