Another bike
Just added on another vintage bike to my stable.
I am into vintage steel. This is a 1989 Centurion Ironman Master.. Oh boy...
The ride is like sipping on sweet, vintage wine. The look is like an equisite painting. All in my opinon of course...

I just chanced upon a thread in C&V with the original 80s sales brochure and magazine reviews for that bike. The reviewers loved it.
I used to browse bicycle magazines in the newsagents in the lobby of the office building where I worked in Jakarta in 85. That bike was quite the hot number, I recall.
Enjoy

Thanks guys..
I know the latest and the greatest are lighter, more performance and effective, but anything I get has got to be pleasing to my eye, and give me that feel! Vintage bikes do both of that to the max, and the kicker is, they don't cost that much. As of now, the bikes have a whole bedroom to themselves..
Life is sweet!!

I see you have a couple 1985 Raleighs, I have an 85 Raleigh Olympian. You'll probably enjoy seeing the 1985 Raleigh catalogue:

I have made two attempts at landing a 1985 Grand Prix, to no avail. Either not my size, or the seller asking too much..
Olympian, a sweet Raleigh bike..

To tell the truth, in that picture, she was just two days old with me. I did some minor adjustments to the seat and stem when i got it..I am about 40 miles into the bike now. Feels comfortable, however, a different seat and pedals are in the works. So, final adjustments are down the line. So far though she is comfortable. I got long arms too.

I recently picked up a 1988 Ironman Master in beautiful, almost new condition (the purple smoke to white fade). All it needed was a new set of tires and some handlebar tape. I changed out the saddle to a Specialized (which I have on 6 other road bikes I use).
The only changes from the original bike was that all black MODOLO handlebars and stem were there having replaced the originals. The !@#$% stem is stuck, but this brand seems to be a problem, as the alloy one on my Cannondale is also stuck. Both bikes were meticulously maintained, so neglect isn't the reason

No problem on the stem, replace it!!
Also, I know you are aware in messing with that stuck stem to not damage the forks in getting it out. If you can't get it out, take it to the LBS, and let them do it...I was on my 88 Ironman Expert yesterday, oh boy, double up joy!! Today, I was back on the Master..

The 60cm is a perfect fit for me, right in the middle of my fit zone.
