Nirvana

A bad ride can still be a good day, and a good ride makes a great day. I had a great ride today, so I figure this must be nirvana?

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

A good ride or a great ride, under any circumstances, makes us feel like we have reached nirvana. Unfortunately, this nirvana curve slowly deflates and then we need to ride again. It's kind of like the fix.

Care to supply us with details?

I made a group ride with the max temperature being 36F, my son joined me, and we had Jamocha shakes at Arby's afterwards. That's a pretty good day.

Weather was not cold, if a bit windy. Rode an hour to the start of a group ride, did the group's B ride, rode some extra miles with a friend, then rode home. It was a small group; 7 started but three ended up heading back early on because of the wind, leaving 4 of us. My friend and I pulled, with him taking it the most in the headwinds, as he is stronger. Had one of the hammerfest rides pass us and joined them for few minutes, getting a break from the wind and some peloton style fast riding. Regrouped as needed after climbs, and enjoyed some fast 40+ downhill sections. It was one of those rides where everything just felt great. Good camaraderie and a glorious day to be out riding. I ended up with 100 miles for the day. Previous week, I had joined my team on the A ride, with the net result being me realizing I needed more base before pushing the intensity that hard, hence the long ride today.
