Thanks for the reminder. I suppose now I'll have to stop at Sandy's House of Flavors (mid point of today's ride) and reward myself with a berry pie.

The only way I can work out PI is the formula of 22/7. Nowadays that means I can eat pie 22 hours a day-- 7 days a week.

Today also marks 50 years since I joined the Marines; for me, it's 'Semper Pi.'

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

My daughter just called. She's bringing over 1/2 of a home made cherry pie. I trained her well.

I didn't think of it until now, but my office parking pass number is 2319. Since they wrote the number on the inside, from the outside looking in it's backwards - and spells PIES! Happy PI day!

Happy Pi Day to you too qcpmsame!
The best I could do today was a short ride over to my folk's house and 1/2 a muffin while I was there. Tomorrow I hope to make it up by doing my first commute of the year to work with a quick stop at the best coffee shop around for a cappuccino & a scone. (Scones - not pie, but they do kind of have a pie slice shape.)

On Pi day aren't we supposed to plan a ride, I did a 50 mile group ride, and stop somewhere towards the end to have Pie? I did that as well. And as directed in the rules of Pi day I had Blueberry.

So Stapfam and Dnvrfox can't dock my points this year I took pictures.

So, I tell my wife it's pie day. She furrows her brow and says, "It's what?" I respond, "Pie day; you know 3/14." She shakes her head and starts to walk away. I call out, "So, do you want to come with me and get some pie?" She turns around and says, "What is wrong with you?" I reply, "Nothing, sweetie, I was just reminded by the folks on the 50+ forum, that's all." She says, "Maybe you shouldn't be spending so much time there." I respond, "Well, at least I didn't expect or even ask you to bake a pie." This was probably not the smartest thing I could have said. The furrowed brow is now turning into an icy glare....

One of the nicest things about going for a ride at times like these is that it gives you a chance to get centered again, to flush all of the toxic stuff out of the relationship. An hour later, I walk in the door, and there waiting for me is PIE!!!!

No docking of points here-- EXCEPT

Where's Dnvr's slice?

Blueberry has to be verified by an adjudicator and in this case we have to get the top man on the job. You also need a Nurse on hand if you are not an experienced Blueberry Pie man and on top of that I now feel hungry.

Dnvr's slice wasn't in the manual. I am a certified blueberry inspector and taster and I had a nurse on hand, two in fact. One is a Mercy Air Nurse and the helicopter is stationed at that small airport. The other might not be as helpfiul to me because she is a OBGYN nurse. But if any of the women in the group go into labor over pie we have it covered.
