Since we're all presumably the mature group here, I assume a couple of you still ride comfortable old vintage bikes. How about posting a photo or two for us to admire?

A 1973 American Eagle/Nishiki. I'm the third owner.
I got it for some wood. The wood was left-over from making a shipping crate to move my stuff to Hawaii to join my girlfriend, but suddenly, backed by Scientologists, she had broken it off just after I had given notice at work.
It has been run over by a Mustang, attacked by gang bangers and probably gotten me 50K miles down the road. My main commuter for much of my life, it now is in semi retirement.

I'm seeing some beautiful old iron. So far, mine's the only titanium frame. And I'm seeing a lot of rear racks. Every one of these bikes reeks pride in ownership!
I figured you old geezers and geezerettes would have the best bikes in existence. You suppose we - and our bikes - are priceless collector's items?

First off is my 1976 Gazelle Champion Mondial. I bought the frame in Holland and assembled sort of a franken-bike with assorted components from the local bicycle shop. I recently changed a lot of stuff switching from 27x1-1/8/4 to 700C wheels. Still a very old and dear friend. I am planning on rebuilding the old campy hub wheels with silver 700C rims to look more like a period correct '70s bike.
I love old steel lugged bikes and of course am always on the lookout for N+1.
Second, is my 1993 Diamondback Topanga. It is what I call my Urban Assault Vehicle. It has street tires and is set up for city streets and MUPs. I can run errands do light shopping and general utility riding in addition to training rides.
Both very comfortable and suitably old school for my tastes.

Never seen the enthusiasm for OLD machinery as it is old machinery. I do have a 92 Kona Explosif which was the first "Quality" bike I had. In its day there was not much better around unless you paid a lot more and even then you had to watch out for "Bling" in place of quality or reputaion of the quality of the manufacturers better bikes. Still have that bike but can't find a pic of it. Last year I did a serious ride on it as my Bianchi Grizzly was loaned to another rider and we did not want to put him on a poor bike or one too big. It still rides well but how I used to do 100 milers offroad on it I will never know. Compared with my 2000 Grizzly it is a dog. Full XT components- but 92 XT. Only cassettes- chainrings and gear changers have been changed. Riding the thing and uphill- lowest gear and it went up hills. Downhill was a different matter. Fast smooth descent with just a couple of dips in the trail and that frame Flexes. I know it is steel but when you see the wheelbase extend by an inch or so- then it is frightening and definitely not what I am used to.
Give me modern machinery any day so I now stand back- duck my head- and wait for the flack.

Yea, there have been a lot of improvements and even more changes that were just gimicky changes. You'll get no flack from me, but you won't push me off my 35 year old Gazelle road bike either. It's all about more miles and more smiles! Whatever trips your trigger.

I had the identical (I think) bike, same color, in the mid '70s. It was the first bike I raced. I replaced the wheels and put tubulars on, put on TA cranks, and was semi-successful with it in club races.
Well - almost. That picture looks almost identical to my old Carlton Professional:
Though - mine had the Reynolds 531 stickers, same as your Raleigh.
I think Raleigh bought Carlton, so they could have been the same bike.
