They made aftermarket accessories. I remember that I had several pairs of leather palmed mesh gloves with the CyclePro name on the velcro strap.

I really liked those gloves. Eventually, the mesh would disintegrate and the leather would harden into the shape of your grip on the hoods. I probably have one unuseable pair in an old parts bin...

Brings back memories...

Motobecane's name is used in Bikes Direct's models, I have seen Mersier, Gitane and Frejus in european adverts and web sites but not available here in the States. Ideale got bought up by another saddle maker and I have no idea about Magistroni, Balilla and Legnano.

One of my childhood bikes was made by BSA. It was a "girls" bike, but bein a BSA I got a pass on that.

My oldest son had an SR bike. It was a really nice lugged frame bike with down tube shifters. My youngest son still has his Panasonic road bike with down tube shifters, and Bio-pace chain rings.

... CyclePro name ...
Phil, I think they were the private label accessories brand for Lawee, Inc, the guys who distributed Univega and a few other bikes out of L.A. I think I had a pair or two of their gloves, too, and your description is spot on, as is the other description of shorts with real chamois. If ever clothes could stand up by themselves, that was it.

Nishiki. I used to own a Nishiki Olympic Royale. I eventually gave it away at the urging of my wife ("too many bikes").

Or, what about fictitious names that 'sound' like "Bike Frame company names after a long dead Italian Cycling Hero?"

How about "Bowlachili"? or "Heavealung"?

LOL

Mine was a Ross Mt St. Helens ( I used to joke that you only could get the bottom half. And it was HEAVY.)

Also, I haven't seen anything new with the name ARAYA in some time.
How about Rigida and Wolber.
