Keeping Up With the Younger Folk (at least for a while)
Today I was passed by a "younger" couple on road bikes, to me they looked to be late forties, early 50s; everybody looks younger so its hard to tell. As often happens when someone passes "on the left" shortly afterward they seem to slow down somewhat. Just for fun, since we were on the flat section of road I gave a little extra effort and found myself drafting them at 18 mph. It was fun and not much effort compared to my riding alone. Did so for around 3 miles and then packed it in when we approached a steep hill. (still need to lose a few pounds to be efficient at hill climbing.) Guess there is still a trace of competitive spirit at 77.

Yeah, occasionally it does the soul good to just hang with a youngster for awhile. I also drop off quickly when approaching hills.
But wait! You are 77 and at 66 I am one of the youngsters.
