Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Another confidence building ride.

I've been riding (sort'a) with a group on Mondays. They're nice folks. The only problem is I'd get dropped on the first tiny little hill and wouldn't catch up with them till the mid-point. Then I'd get dropped pretty quickly going back so I was riding almost the entire ride alone.

Today I decided to start out at my condo and just ride to the mid-point by myself. It worked pretty well. On the way back I was even able to hang with four teams of my tandem riding friends for about a mile longer than last time. total ride distance was 37.5 miles. It was good.

The issue with riding the route that I rode today is the last 2 miles are a climb up Jungs Station Hill. I've been avoiding that climb ever since I broke my hip. You know the rest - barriers like Jungs Station Hill are always more mental than physical. I made it and I didn't even have to resort to using my granny chainring.

My confidence is gradually coming back.

That's great news, Retro! Keep concentrating on the positive feedback you are getting from completing these rides. Each one is a building block. Keep it up.

Good for you RG, the barriers are falling for you. Nothing but my best wishes for your continued success.
