We spent a few days in Madison, Chicago and Toledo. Saw this bike rack and others like it in Toledo. Don't know that I've ever seen any like them before.

I'm told they're called ribbon-style racks. Pretty common here.

Those type of bike racks are all over Tampa. Never seen any with a knitted cover but they are certainly different.

I see these types of racks all over the place. However, this is the first time I have seen one with all those decorations.

Toledo has a rich and vibrant arts community, and this is just one sign of it.

The cover is a good idea and a nice touch, but that sine wave style of rack is much less efficient than a series of individual U sections. You can put 5 bikes on that rack, but with four U racks, 8 bikes could be locked up.

We had one done up like that and as Bill mentioned, it didn't last long, just a slouchy bit left here and there.

Usually 4 staples would cost a bit more but it looks like they would fit fine in that location. Sometimes there is room for a ribbon like that but not for staples running perpendicular.

My wife crochets. It gets to be an obsession. She has bags of stuff she's done down in the basement. Some of it could be put to good use, covering bike racks, etc.

You clearly don't know knitters. Every knitter has way too much yarn on their hands. They can buy yarn way faster than they can use it.
