And Team GB are in the first pic on the left behind the Union Jack flag being waved by an American lady that promised she would not wave it in front of the camera.

And this is what the wife went to London for.

At least the wife sent you some pictures to drool over -- and prove that she really DID have a front row seat!

... But I doubt that they eased any pain...

I'd wave the Union Jack if I were there. I might wave the flag of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, too.

PS why do they call it a commonwealth if wealth ain't that common here? Just wondering.

PPS couldn't help but notice that pretty much the entire Portugese swim team trains at the University of Louisville. Instead of their national flag they should have been waving the Cards banner. Hope they do well.

There's no difference between a Commonwealth and a State. Commonwealth originally meant an area or region governed by the people, not a monarch. In fact between 1649 and 1660, I believe, England was a Commonwealth. During the Revolutionary war, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Kentucky declared themselves Commonwealths--thus declaring they were ruled by the people and not the monarchy.

Hopefully, the flag the lady had was blowing or she didn't realize that her waving would be caught by the lens coverage of the camera--and not being obnoxious after promising not to get in the way of the camera. Non-photographers don't realize the angle of coverage that a lens has unless they are looking at a viewfinder or display showing what the camera "sees."

Rather nice of your wife to take the photos to let you see how it looked there.
