Do you remember bike shops like this?

Researching a track bike I will be renovating I came across this article about a bike shop I used to frequent in the late 60s and 70s. Good memories, although, looking back I wonder how he made any money.

Read the bit about how he finally checked out - I wouldn't mind going like that!

This is the kind of shop i go to,Terry the owner has been their for 33 years.When you go to pick up your bike after a tune up he says to everybody when he gives them there bike, with a smile "RACE READY"

I get that, but the smile thing from Terry is different, its kinda more like a challenge or something.Its kinda old school. How can i put this .. i know. more like i have done my job now GET IT DONE.
