Same here, for almost 40 years now. I don't drink milk (my wife does), but I do eat some cheese and yogurt.

Yup, the idle immune system is the devil's playground. Asthma, celiac, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. are on the rise, and this may be part of the explanation. Kids who grew up with pets tend to be healthier than others.

These problems are associated with the massive industrialization of the food supply. A hundred years ago there was no need to inject beef with antibiotics. Diets high in protean that the cows did not evolve to eat, and over crowding into unsanitary feedlots have made it necessary. You can find antibiotic free, grass fed beef, but it is expensive. Fine. Most Americans, and a growing number of Europeans, are eating way more of it than they have too.

I for one have found a source that is reasonably local (if you are an urban dweller like me you have to make the compromise in the case of beef, that "local" is less than 500 miles) I can get it from closer, cut that is all feed lot beef from about 75 miles from here.
