I never get tired of the sun streaming through the clouds. It made getting out before all the snow melted worth it!

Riding through the June Lake Loop.
This is some of the sweetest cycling you'll find anywhere. Carson Peak, horsetail falls, terrific fishing, great pavement, and little traffic. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps2761de44.jpg Oh, and a little bedroom-sized restaurant that sells awesome omelets. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...psdc90948b.jpg |

I can't resist adding the micro view of things once in a while. This is on a split rail fence along the Schuylkill River Trail.

Back to the mundane.
Here is a pic of a spot I call the zombie farm, set back in the woods off Rehl Road. I felt uneasy about stopping long enough to snap this photo: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...psbf9d777b.jpg It just gives me the creeps. More likely it's a Farmer Vincent type of establishment, at least from the looks of this ominous shed: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps68699b87.jpg |

The proper way to end a ride. Wine tasting following the Party Pardee metric.

Monday afternoon, a creek crossing along the Potomac. Right at the property boundary to the Trump National Golf Course at Lowes Island, VA. There's a longstanding county trail easement through the property - a singletrack trail that is little known. This critter even posed for me. His shell was probably 15 inches long or so.

Here are a few from the Tierra Bella Century today
Start of the first hill looking back down. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310630 It was a might bit overcast at the top of gilroy hotsprings. I debated taking my windbreaker and decided against it. At this point I was regretting that decision, but it warmed up nicely later. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310628 On the great rest stops where people inevitably eat more than they burned up between here and the last one. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310627 The Bridge at Anderson Reservoir. It is all up hill from here to the top of Henry Coe State Park. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310626 One of the more gradual sections of the climb. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310625 A steeper portion near the top (but still not worthy of the "steep climb" sign that showed up later. In the background you can see the road cut back to the left. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310624 At the top of Henry Coe. We started at the base of the hills in the far distance. At this point we were about 50 miles into the ride, and after coming back down I was just too focused on trying to finish to take any more pictures. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=310623 |
Two weeks ago. Hoosier farmland looks a bit barren right now, but that will change soon.

Some riders doing laps prior to the Presbyterian Crits in Downtown Charlotte Saturday night. One of our local Cat 1's with another pretty good rider. Maybe GH was riding with him as he was wearing his Hincapie Kit???

George was the honorary starter for this event, and he was coaching one of the teams (yes, they were wearing the Hincappie kit). George and his brother are opening a B&B in Travelers Rest. You might run into him on the road from time to time.

Justiffa, I love Malaysia, been there a few times, mainly for scuba diving. Last time I visited Penang and hiked up the jeep track to Penang Hill. There were cyclists climbing that road, and as I recall most of the grade was over 20% - some of the most intense riding I have seen.

Great pics! What would have made those fish pictures really awesome however, were if you were all snorkeling on your bicycles! :D (I'm kidding! ... I think...)

Whoa. Off line for a couple of weeks, the weather warms up again, and look at all the pix ... nice job! :thumb:

Here's one from the Eastern Sierra Double. My friend here is obviously a very attractive woman, but the thing I really like about the picture her head position ... up and enjoying the scenery:

Mississippi is this close to closing the Confluence Trail between Alton and Wood River. It might be under water in a few days, when all that rain that hit Chicago makes it's way downriver...

Well, now the Confluence Trail is officially under water. The crest won't be until tuesday or wednesday, when the spot I'm standing on, in the pictures below, will be under 7 feet of water.
