I am embracing retro-hip bad-quality photography that looks good anyway, sorta kinda. I bought a used micro 4/3 camera and a pinhole lens. It arrived yesterday.
With the right model -- my sweet wife-- I think maybe I can make it work.

What do you mean "no cycling content?" Based on photos I've seen on this forum in the past, this model is a 50+ cyclist. Surely even the content police can't dispute the relevance of this photo. It is a tribute to the benefits of cycling. Every 50+ woman should look so good! Lovely picture, Curtis!

I did not shoot this photo and I don't recall where I found it, but it is a section of the Great Allegheny Passage.

No bike riding for an entire week! It was a family Disneyland trip with the grandkids.

The photos were only added to show proof of why I have not ridden for an entire week….honest:D

My oldest granddaughter somehow turned into Merida from the toon Brave.

Then she suffered a horrible archery accident back in the hotel room.

My youngest grandkid fit right into Toon Town

I home now, it will be in the mid to high 60’s, I can’t wait for my ride in a couple of hours.

Not the best camera work but a splendid view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Friday's ride. I was much higher up than the picture depicts.

I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter's tragic archery accident. I hope she makes a full recovery from her traumatic brain injury. :innocent:

This is McKenzie pass west of Sisters Oregon. The road is usually cleared in late may and has 30 miles of car free riding up an over the pass until late June or July. We ride this on the Central Oregon 500. 6/5-6/9 2013. Info at MBSEF.org

How much wind do you typically get? Very, very nice are but it all appears to be out in the open!! I bet wind could really make or break a ride??

Looking forward to riding out your way in September. Is the Central Oregon ride held about the same week every year?

This is a section is in Sloan Canyon in Nevada. The Las Vegas Loop will be a 115 mile loop that circles Las Vegas, NV. Most of it is paved. This section is obviously not, but its not too tough. Vegas has a ton of good riding. If you get here, bring a bike.

Also, I really enjoy this whole post. This page has grandkids, playing with cameras and seeing real people. Love the 50+ thread.

The wind wasn't bad at all, got just a little bit of headwind from Tomales down to the water, but that was it Actually most of the riding is in the valleys with the occasional climb up to the ridge top, and then a nice fast decent I've ridden this area a few times and haven't had bad winds.

I saw this in my church's parking lot this morning:

Aperture Science and the friendly machine gun turrets. Funny stuff.

No riding for me today. I am getting sick of this sight, personally:

Not too windy out here but like everywhere we can get all types of weather. Yes we run the Central Oregon 500 at about the same time in june. It started as my 50th birthday week ride. Just me and mini mart support. The motto is ride, eat, sleep and repeat. The ride is a fund raiser for our local sports education foundation cycling program now and is on its second year of that. Last June we were hammered with rain and snow so we got that out of the way !! The fun part of the ride is that we have local volunteer guides to ride with the group each day.
Enjoy

That guy is a kook! I love it.

Here is one from Mt. Rushmore. Anyone ride through the pigtails near there? Oy, was that fun!

^ That looks sweet! I've been through some of those towns on Cycle Oregon's long past. I remember Prineville, distinctly. Isn't that home of Les Schwab? We had a cow-pie pitching contest at the fair, and went to a concert to see some country-rock-ish star, complete with screaming teenage fans.

Flippin great time.

PS: Just noticed that the fee for 5 days of cycling and road support is only $300(!) That is an great deal.

Note sure where you saw $300. The website I looked at (www.cycleoregon.com) says 895 - still not a bad price. After seeing all the pics you have been posting of your long distant rides, it sure is tempting! There is a lot of beautiful scenery out there to be seen!

Succumb to temptation ... do it!

Cycle Oregon is well worth the $895, but I was referring to the Central Oregon 500 (check out the link in CO500's sig line). 5 days at $65 a day is a great deal!

The Central Oregon 500 is 5 days of back to back centuries starting and finishing daily in Bend Or. We have local ride guides leading the rides every day and take great care of the riders.
We are looking at about 30 riders this year. Come Ride !!

I love Bend, and there is some first class cycling out there. But the time, the time ... always the time. Is this a one-time deal, or are there plans to make this an annual event?

This will be year 2 of running it as a organized ride. I did it for 3 years with mini mart support. Bend is great for riding road and Mt. I have another favorite ride that is a 100 mile road ride from home to East Lake at Newberry Crater just southeast of Bend. I meet my wife there with our camper. Switched out the Mt bike the next day and rode 50 miles home on single track. The picture is looking south from the rim trail open to hiking, and bikes.http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=306951 The trail follows the skyline rim from the peak at 8000'
