I got to ride a two-week tour from Portland to Bellingham (and Canada!)
I'm madly blogging it, but here's a photo from Mt. Rainer, and one from Forks https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5573/...07b13e29_z.jpg Lake and Ranier Washington Cascades 2014_0410 by ccorlew, on Flickr https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5562/...3e53d943_z.jpg Forks Rain forest Washington Cascades 2014_0268 by ccorlew, on Flickr |

Saturday morning break time on the West Orange Trail (Orange county FLA, west of Orlando) . . . A well utilized - well maintained, paved M.U.P. offering several 'trail heads' 5 to 8 miles apart - Currently about 25 miles end-to-end including a western link into neighboring Lake county. Construction is underway to extend it even farther west very soon.

Good luck, Biker395. One of the Bulls will be riding it as well, on an over 70 team
|
Thanks! This will be the first time crewing without riding in the race as well. Looking forward to it!

My boss... Ms. B. Underfoot.
http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/critt...sunderfoot.jpg She showed up as an abandoned cat complete with a crate and blankets and has adopted us and like every cat in the world, she likes bicycles. |
The Hopewell Valley Arts Council undertook a fundraising project called the Hopewell Valley Stampede. They decided the Ox was a good symbol of Hopewell Valley and solicited sponsors and artists to produce decorated, lifesize, fiberglass oxen which have been placed all over Hopewell Township in Mercer County, New Jersey.
I thought it would be a fun project to ride my bike to each ox and take a photo. Here's a page with all my photos of the oxen. Here is a photo relevant 50+. This is "Olly the Orthopaedic Ox," who's over 50 in Ox years. He's sponsored by the Hopewell Valley office of the Trenton Orthopaedic group. Note that he has a hip replacement, a shoulder replacement, cracked ribs, a knee replacement, fused vertebrae, rods and pins, a cast, braces, and probably a few orthopaedic problems. He'd fit right in here! - Ed http://www.edandjane.net/Home/Hopewe...dic%20Ox_1.jpg |
Looks as if the oxen above is/was a cyclist and had his big tire blow event on a descent................
Or he is definitely 50+ with the joint replacements. I can fully relate to his fused lumbar vertebra, looks very familiar with the plates and graft cages, the screws are annoying at times, too. Bill |

Snapped on my ride yesterday. Brings the California drought close to home. Lake Elizabeth is in the Leona Valley on the northern side of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles county. The San Andreas fault runs smack dab down the middle of the Leona Valley.
First time in my eleven years in the Antelope Valley have I seen the lake dry. Never realized it is so shallow. Stinks something awful! looking southeast http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps14ec3383.jpg looking southwest http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps26a7c2a9.jpg |
I guess I could post a few pictures from Aruba that I took last week but they were not from riding the bike. I did see a few cyclists heading north in the Palm Beach area one night though.
