Ahhhhh, MossLanding and the Elkhorn Slough. Quite a kayaking experience if you haven’t done it. Pick your tide times to make it easy peasy. Pack a lunch, beverages of choice. Crazy full of marine mammals and bird life - once it was pink jellyfish everywhere. Totally unique.

The Eastern Sierra Double was last weekend. The weather was changeable and iffy. We had sun. We had rain. We had hail. The highlight (or lowlight) for me was a 30 MPH+ wet-braked descent down to the finish down the Sherwin Grade in twilight darkness (and with a lot of migrating deer about no less). I did 34+ miles Saturday morning on my 2013 Fuji Absolute 2.1, starting before dawn to beat the Texas heat. Calm winds, but the 90% humidity was BRUTAL. I was glad I wore a Camelback in addition to bringing a bottle to squirt through the helmet vents.
