on the return trip up through the Keystone Viaduct and then (eventually) to the Salisbury Viaduct - just in time to watch the sun set and spot a train passing underneath

Seeing some posts with falling leaves so thought I would share some shots from my rides. The colours this year have been really amazing up here, worth getting out to have a look. Unfortunately, none of my ride locations have been very exciting but these are local streets around me and make for nice quiet scenery, once off the main roads.

Short smokey ride...

There were planned CalFire control burns in the area. I knew about it, west of us near Pescadero. But it was heavy and I cut my ride short, at Pearson Arastradero Park. Of course the orange and pink light makes beautiful photos. Then I watched a hawk for 5 minutes at the end of my short ride. 7 miles, 1000ft.

Over 15 years ago, I spent a week substitute teaching at a high school very near this location. The students were literally so gansta-criminal that it became the ONE school I NEVER returned to.

On my ride home from a new grocery run today.

One of the best rides in my hood is to climb Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) and Glendora Ridge Road (GRR) to Baldy Village and back. There is typically very little traffic, and the higher you go up GRR, the more full sized mature trees there are.

Or were. I was up there yesterday for a looksee, and this is the view from Cow Saddle (just before descending to Baldy Village). That blowing dust in the distance is denuded blowing topsoil.
