Caught this riding home ... a ghostly lookin power plant. Really dim, so I had to make a long exposure, holding the camera to my handlebars. Check out that ghostly figure in the lower left corner.

Thanks! Well, I rode by yesterday and snapped this. The ghostly mystery image is a dead palm tree! Oy.

Mountain biking with my son (and dogs) yesterday. Love Arizona in January! 'bob Looks like the Phoenix Mountain Preserve? Trail 100? If so, I've ridden there a couple of times and LOVE it. You're in the middle of the city and you'd never know it. If not, I'm envious regardless where it was. |

Enough with the sun, warmth and greenery, more ice and freezing temps!
Having some fun on the ice with my friend's son up in Maine. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=359076 |

OMG ... you found a time machine!
JK ... where was that taken? Edit to add: Just noticed you're a Brit ... that explains the date. |

They say you shouldn't wear white after Labor Day; but I dunno. |

Where is that at exactly? It's been years since I lived down there, but that sure looks familiar.

A pix of my bud Teresa ... recovering in the shade after a punishingly hot climb.

What ride, Biker395?
|
We were heading up from Camp Williams to the top of Glendora Mountain Road. Everyone else had turned around because of the heat (117 on Highway 39 at the kiosk), but I talked Teresa into taking the long way around. The thermometer on my VDO peaked out at 124.
To be honest, it was a stupid move. That is waaaay too hot, and once you get into the heat stroke regime, it's not enough to just turn around and head back downhill. Just for yuks, I turned the camera on myself and this is what I looked like. Completely soaked with perspiration and my face beet red. I honestly don't think I'd do that again. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps2d9b93de.jpg |
you guys are lucky! I have never ridden in that heat. I finished a ride one July when the temps hit 110..... but there was no climbing and it only was above 100 for the last hour or 2
|
^ Yea, I know. It was stupid! The really stupid thing is that I live near the beach and have other options, even on the hottest of days. Oy ... sometimes I wonder about my sanity.
Caught this riding home last night. With the high ISO and all the grain, it really doesn't capture the beautiful evenings we've been having. Calm, warm, and dry. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...pseb029dfe.jpg In fact, too dry. If'n we don't get some rain soon, we're gonna be in a world of hurt. Check out this high pressure ridge. I dunno that I've ever seen the likes of that in the winter. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps0397796f.jpg |

I refuse to worry about the drought. I'm just going to enjoy the warm, sunny, windless weather.

The oddly warm weather continues. Had a beautiful moonlit ride to work this morning.
