A truly funny man. He was the godfather to a couple of generations of comedians. I heard an interview with Jonathan years ago where he talked about doing a lot of his comedy improvisation any more on the streets and for whoever would pay attention. He said that he had gotten tired of the business of comedy and that he just enjoyed doing his thing in unstructured situations.

He will be missed!

That was his real talent. He wasn't so much a joke teller. He was just flat out funny.
He could even bring other comedians to tears.
