Anyway, 10 Wheels I've got to get over to Houston some time this year to ride with you old farts
My best friend is 75 and he kicks my butt and most people of any age on a bike, distance and/or speed. That guy is awesome, he was in the nationals a couple of times.Thinking about heading over for a brevet sometime in Houston area or the Katy Flatlands ride. Hope to meet up with you guys. Have a niece who lives in Sugarland or somewhere around there.
Or you can come to the valley and enjoy our heat, winds and humidity....but your're used to it already.

I ride a recycled Japanese bike I picked up here in Cambodia, replaced the following, chainring and crankarms, 7 speed shimano freewheel cassette, chain, R derailleur, right brake lever with a combo shifter and brake, fork and front wheel(bent in a crash), all rear spokes and tires.

I currently have 6 bikes, but that changes from time to time. I'd like to have a modern, carbon fiber, brifter equipped wonder, but don't have a grand or 2 to spend on a bike right now. So I buy bikes from the last century on Craiglist for cheap and restore them to their former glory!
Current project is a 1983 SR , nice light bike, about 21 pounds. It's a little too big for me so it looks like this:
But I'm an old guy, so I can get away with a setup like this^^.

That's not unlike the egg and cheese burritos that I used to take on longer rides. The bike shop guys I rode with would kid me about cholesterol but it's just an idea I brought from paving crews I'd worked on.

That's a bit of a moving target, eh? When you're in diapers, "old" includes kids that can't read yet. Later, "old" is the 22yr old, first year teacher, then old becomes your professors or your boss, and now "old" is anyone with more age spots on their skin than I have.
