Today the "old guy" was sorting this "new" ride out.
Sometime within an hour of getting home the front tube let go. So glad that didn't happen at 28 mph while on the aero bars. That would've sucked.

Hello,
Here is a phone pic of my Sutra. Taken at the bike trails in Glenwood, IL. (Oops! Picture was taken at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Indiana. Picture is old and bars and stem are lower.)

Picture of my Electra Loft. Picture taken at 'Swisher Park', it is a small rest area off the Erie-Lackawanna bike trail. This bike taught me to breath again.
OT question: Does one have to pay money to start an Album at this site?

How have I managed to not post in this thread yet?
I own four bikes:
- a Carl Strong TIG-welded steel road bike with S&S couplers, carbon ENVE fork, DT Swiss wheels, & Ultegra 6700 (soon to be upgraded to SRAM eTap) that Carl built for me in 2010
- a Richard Sachs Signature lugged steel road bike with Cole C24 wheels & Campagnolo Record that Richard built for me in 2015...or 2016?
- a Bridgestone 600 lugged steel road bike from 1986 that I got off eBay in 2007 (since this pic was taken I've replaced a number of the parts on it)
- a 2005 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 that I got off-the-shelf at the LBS in 2006...sorry, no pics.

This latest project/acquisition needs some prefacing. The building where I work on a college campus is being enlarged and the faculty/staff parking lot that I normally use has been given to the construction company for the next two years. We have been reassigned parking about a half mile from the building. Lots of folks are complaining about this. I took it as an excuse to build a cheap bike to leave on campus. Low budget was a priority and I was going for something that wouldn't appeal to bike thieves (not a big problem here, but it does exist.)
A friend of mine who works at a bike shop gave me the frame (a Pure hi-ten frame -- the paint was scratched; they warranteed it, but didn't want it back!) I was going to build it up with spare parts, but most of what I had either didn't fit or was too nice. Instead, with the proceeds from the sale of some vintage parts, two gift vouchers that came with the goodie bag from a charity ride, access to the take-offs bin at the LBS and about $30, this is the result. In the end the only things from my own parts bin were the cable housing, inner tubes, seatpost collar, bottle cage and rack.
I decided not to go all matchy matchy.

Since the upheaval with photobuck I’ll post (or is it repost??) this of my bottom feeder among my vintage road racers, the ‘87 Miyata 712 Competition with full 105. It’s a surpriser to me as it was found for 20clams at the thrift shop last year. I plan on riding it a bit more.

It was a good month for the steel enthusiast in me and a bad month for my wallet.
Added the following to my riding stable.
Mid 90s Serotta CSI:
1994 (I think) Team Gan Lemond GLX:
And then my first up and running Centurion Ironman, a 1987 expert;
Totally had to redo the Bike Cave and still need to sort out more room in there.
