Micro tears? Are they possible?
I知 not seeking medical advice. I知 not attempting to self-diagnose. I知 just seeking to know if others have had a similar experience so I can start thinking about what questions I might want to ask when I do seek medical advice.
This morning I awoke to find that when I bend my left knee more than 80 degrees I get a sharp, yet slight, shooting pain right around the front outside of the knee. It痴 not deep. Rather it feels like a small little tear is taking place. The knee moves fine, and there is no pain otherwise. This is a new sensation for me. Never felt anything like it before. Not the least bit unbearable, but will mention it to my primary physician when I see him early next week

The answer you're looking for is this: yes.
Sometimes it doesn't take much, and sometimes the symptoms of a not so micro tear can be pretty subtle. My wife tore one of her menisci to shreds and didn't know it until she had an MRI.
You know the drill.

Make sure that you are getting plenty of Vitamin C to help your body repair itself and know when to take a day or days off the bicycle to heal. Good idea to check with the Doc.
