I have been reading the forum for some time and actually registered some time ago. I am mostly ride mountain bikes, but do ride my cross bike on the road when I am strapped for time and can't make it to the foothills here in Boise, where I live. Ride a Cannondale lefty RZ 140 and a Ritchey Swiss Cross. I am pretty much a recreational rider although I do an occasional mountain bike race when my oldest son convinces me to go with him. We actually like the endurance 6, 12, 24 race formats more then the traditional cross country races. I am headed toward retirement in December and thinking about trying some touring. Nice to have a place to chat with riders my age as I tend to ride with younger folks and they don't always get all the issues I talk about. Anyway, please to meet you all.

Great to have you join us here in the 50+ Forum, just read some and then post to your hearts content. We are pretty much all here so we can be with cyclist our age to discuss riding and fitness topics as well as the other things being over 50 brings us.

I just Googled your Cannondale RZ 140. That's a nice looking bike! Maybe it's because I'm partial to Cannondale.

Mine is a 2010. Last Cannondale USA made frame year. I suppose someday I will move on to another mountain bike but I don't think I will every part with this frame.

Welcome to our happy group. As my maternal grandfather used to tell everyone, "I am like fine wine -- I get better with age."

WELCOME!!! You live in a place I want to retire to! I am very jealous! Can I come visit???
I live near a vacation destination (Newport Beach, CA) so we can switch places!

Welcome to the "family". My great grandparents and great-great-grandparents were born, lived, and are buried in Idaho, (Payette on the maternal side, Hailey on the paternal side). I just might end up there in a couple more years when I retire. (I promise to not bring California style liberalism with me).

Actually I was raised in So Cal but have been here since college. Married an Idaho girl and Boise always draws people who have lived here back. Boise is a great place, especially if you like the outdoors.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.
I've spent maybe 2 hours in Idaho. Loved every minute of it. Mrs. Grouch and I were delivering my daughter's car from St Louis to their new home in Seattle on I-90. We stopped for lunch in Cour d'Alene. Idaho isn't very wide that far north. Talk about one stop shopping, you have your mountains, you have your lake, there's some kind of major bike trail there and it's all so beautiful. If most of my grand kids weren't concentrated in this area, that's where I'd be living.
