First day back on a trainer.

Broke my collar bone and three ribs May 10. Thought I'd be on a trainer within two weeks but in spite of some attempts, today was my first day back on a trainer bike. Had to buy a big foo-foo seat. Sitting upright on my road saddle just did not cut it. I'll have to break in my butt all over again. It will be a minimum of another month of this according to my doc. Pretty nasty job with a big titanium plate. But I did 20 solid minutes at an HR 150-155 which for me (age 61) was pretty decent given the timing and my first time back on the bike.
Interesting times ahead, I'm sure. As with everything and everyone.

Good to hear an update on your recovery Bud, sounds like the collar bone injury was a serious one to earn you the Ti award. I'm fine with the Ti parts I have currently, 2 straps, 2 cages and 4 screws in my lumbar spine. That time and HR levels sounds like you are coming along well for just starting back after the accident, the butt thing will just be the usual "build up the cheek callouses". Best of luck and good wishes for the continued recovery going well. Take care.

Glad to hear you are "back in the saddle" even though it is not the saddle you would like.

It won't take very long to break in your butt - at least I find there is a carry-over even if I am off the bike a long time.

Thanks for the update.

Grats Digibud. I hope your recovery is fast.
I know i get a little crazy if I can't bike.
