Now that the decision was made to get the Compact Double like we said, many posts ago, you have low gear options if you need them. The number of cassettes being offered and the new derailleurs that even road bikes are going to make climbing easier. Many of the new bikes are coming with 11 or 12x30s even from Shimano. So while the steps may be wider for most riding we hardly ever notice. And that is a good looking bike and I hope you have many years of enjoyment from it. Good choice.
