I used to laugh and say, " I'm a cyclist. We know how to suffer." Little did I know how little I knew about suffering. My Masi looks unscathed. When I came home and got a moment away from my gf (who has been hovering over me to a point of craziness) the first thing I did was to check on my Masi. I love that bike.

Did the finger-toe check a couple years ago and was relieved when they moved. While waiting for the ambulance I asked how the bike was. Guess we are all a bunch of strange individuals to care so much about our machines.
Hope you have a good recovery.

This reminds me of the major role probability plays in our lives; both in the events themselves and the consequences. So, sooner or later people often have to face down the "why me" question. This adds to the mental challenges involved in healing and adaptation.
I found knowing that was very helpful.

I know this is true and I feel the same about her. It's just that she's making herself crazy trying to control every breath I take. Hopefully, she will find the balance we both need.

I think the answer to the question "Why me?" is "Because. Now what are you going to do with it?"

That SUCKS!!
Really....very sorry to read about your accident Bruce. Mend quickly and learn to take it easy and enjoy the recovery.
I always tell the kids, accidents happen in a blink of an eye. Amazing how life takes an 180 degree turn when least expected.
All the best...

To the OP, thanks for sharing your story. It is tough to read but we all need to be reminded to appreciate every minute. Happy to hear you have all that support from your girl friend and that expect a good recovery.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Sorry to hear the news but glad to hear, as already mentioned, that you are perfectly able to tell us about it. And glad to hear you are moving forward.

Good luck with the recovery. Perhaps try to set targets that are achievable yet not easy.
You're fit and healthy (you have to be to mix it with the 1s and 2s) and that should help a lot in recovery.
Any idea of how long the healing process and rehab will take?
