Rode the NJ Gran Fondo yesterday, 63 miles, 5000 feet up and down(though it seemed more up than down) . It was a beautiful day, perfect for riding. At the finish they handed out bottles of water wrapped in an ice cold, wet towel. It was perfect. My first time doing this ride, it was well run, and it seemed everybody had a good time. There was outstanding support from the various police departments in the towns we rode through. On officer wass stopping cars so we could go through a red light. The cross street had at least a 1/4 mile long line of unhappy drivers NOT going through a green light.
