Doing any endo is usually a Bad Thing; but if I had to do one, I'd rather it be on a short wheelbase. Why? Because as you go over, the chainring and therefore your feet, are the pivot point. So in effect whether you're doing a forward roll or a splat, you're doing it from the ground, not several feet in the air.
