We have to endure another week of arctic subzero before what looks to be a warmup. Somehere in the back of our minds (here in N Mich) is the expectancy of the typical March blizzard.

Fortunately the river I was on (Loyaahanna River) did not have too many ice flows. However, there was a family of Eagles flying overhead so it made for a great trip.

I really know I'm ready after yesterday. I swapped crank sets between two bikes just to see how they would look, and then pulled a third bike into the mix and pulled that crank set. By the time I was done, everything was back as it started and four hours had passed. My wife simply asked, "Did you get your bike fix for today?'

LOL, she knows that is NEVER the issue. Rather, it's the need to be close to them, touch them, and dream about where they will take me.

My first home stereo and my first pickup both had 8-track players and, yes, I did have the Best of BTO 1976 Version. I know it's not the same but I think I can download MP3s of a lot of their music from Amazon (lost the original to a girl whose name I don't even remember anymore).

Good grief. That is cold. We hit -6F last night. And they are predicting another snow storm arriving Monday. I've had enough. We're jumping on a plane and heading to Florida on Sunday morning. Plan is to stay for only 4 days. Long term forecast is that it should be in the 50s when we return. If that changes, we may just stay a bit longer.

We have system snow coming in on Saturday, maybe some of what is in your forecast. Sorry 'bout that.

Where are y'all headed, NOS? If you get in the panhandle area give me a shout. It was 26 this morning on the way to work, but it is supposed to hit mid 60s today and the low 70s this weekend, no rain for now. You and yours are certainly welcome to our place any time.

Appreciate the offer, Bill. We're headed to Boca Raton to see my oldest. We called him last night. He's thrilled. Mom and Dad can take him and his significant other out to dinner and foot the bill.

We have been stupid cold here too. Actual -16F last night, expecting -24F tonight with windchills in the -40 range. The only good news (for our area) is that the cold has been keeping the heavy snowstorms south. No thaws expected in the 10-day forecast.

I fear I will be cast into outer darkness if I reveal what our weather is right now. There it is considered the high season of tourism in Costa Rica....

We are expected to receive more snow Monday or Tuesday. But at least it isn't stupid cold. Just very cold.
