It just feels good...
To be back on the bike after all this winter and rain and cold. 21 miles tonight after work and it felt great. I am so looking forward to this better weather.

This winter, I laid off the bike more then usual. So still trying to get back in shape for this spring and summer. Commuted to work (RT 29 miles) that last 2 days and 3 days last week, MTB'ing on the weekend, some short rides on other weekends. Still lots of work to do.
Speaking of rain, had a great ride home last night (midnight) in moderate rain. Dry when I started, but that quickly changed within 3 miles. Had rain gear in the bag, elected to keep riding and just ignored the wet. Turned out my gear held up great, including the new helmet (Giro Feature) with limited vents. Even after 10 miles in the rain, I wasn't really wet, just felt a little damp and really enjoyed the ride.
What I'm finding is rain isn't a good enough reason to not ride on the roads. Good fenders, decent jacket, tights or rain pants, shoe or toe covers, helmet cover and gloves, and you can actually be quite comfortable. Like a bug, snug in a rug. Also makes me feel adventurous like a kid again.... lots of fun.
