I need a new frame.
Went for a ride Sunday Morning with my wife, Beautiful day, beautiful partner. Cruising along on an wide road, with a nice bike lane. I was in front, she was behind, and a little to the left. A few moments inattention, she drifted forward so her front wheel was even with my BB, then a slight drift to the right.
It felt like a big hand was trying to shove me off the bike, and I heard her scream. I was trying to control my bike, and was waiting to hear the crash as she hit the pavement. But, as the cycling gods smiled upon us, we both stayed up right. After regaining composure, we both wondered how my wife didn't crash. She was behind me so Ididn't see what she did, but it must have been some good bike handling. She is an LCI, and teaches bike skills, so I guess practice makes perfect.
I got a tire rub mark on my leg, which she was concerened about, but no big deal.
When we got home I noticed a rub mark on my left chain stay. The first mark on my bike, a Specialized Roubaix. She kept asking if my leg was ok, but I just stared at the mark on my frame. Then she asked if my bike was ok, I siad 'I need a new frame.'.
She didn't buy it, and her response, good Jersey Girl that she is, isn't suitable for print.
The lesson learned is don't half wheel!

If she made you wobble you might at least need a new wheelset.
FWIW I know Jersey Girls all too well. Hackensack HS Class of '64. The ones I knew are not so much "girls" anymore.
