Best Road Bike Size for Me?
Hello guys,
I just want to know the best Road bike size for my body. I am 16 and still growing so would like a size that will last for a while. I am small for my age as I am only 5ft 2 or a bit more. I don't know of waist size comes in here but if it does about 31 inches. So, what's the best wheel size and frame size?
Thanks

Are you male or female?
If you end up on the small size like me at 5'7 or 5'8, you'll want a 54.
For now, you'll want a 48 to 50. Keep in mind you're still growing so you may be better off with a 48 cm mini velo.

I am male. Thanks for the info. Why would I go with the smallest size if I am still growing? I also want a racing bike

A Respect mini velo can be adjusted by moving the seatpost up as you grow taller. With a road bike, you're basically limited by whatever height you were when you bought it. When you reach your final adult height, then is the time to buy a full size road bike.

I sadly don't like the look of those bikes, but I'll have to choose. Can it be used for racing?

At 5'2", look for a bike in the 48-50 cm range. 50 might be somewhat on the large side, but you'll likely grow into it or eventually grow out of it. For the interim, it can be fitted with a shorter handlebar stem. The bike will have 700c wheels, which is good because tires and tubes are widely available and you'll be able to share spares with your riding companions. With compact frame geometries, smaller wheels are only necessary on extremely small frames.

Regarding new entry level, I like Trek's 1.1, available in 47 and 50 cm, MSRP $770, but usually discounted. Also, check out Scott's Speedster 60, available in 47 and 49 cm, MSRP and local prices unknown. They're usually comparable to Trek's. I was going to recommend the Raleigh Merit 1, but, sadly, it isn't available smaller than 52. Happy hunting.

5'2" tall but what is your leg length? That will determine your frame size and your torso length will determine the reach you need to comfortably reach the handlebar.
If there is a racing or performance oriented club near you they might know someone who has a used bike the size you'll need.
Cheers
