Female Fit: Selle SMP to a Selle Anatomica?
Hello!
I received a Selle Anatomica X saddle as a gift, but am having a difficult time finding a comfortable seat on my bike.
I have little experience testing out saddles. I typically use a Selle SMP TRK Large saddle for tours and rides around town, but was thinking of transitioning to a new saddle in preparation for a long tour this summer. Any folks out there with experience making the transition from Selle SMP to Anatomica? Or, are there ways to get close to the comfort of the SMP while still being able to maintain a warranty for my Anatomica saddle (playing with tension, etc.)?
If there’s no hope, might as well know that too instead of going through some grueling test rides in discomfort!
Thank you.

* there's a fore-aft sweet spot where it's comfortable and you can't more fore-aft (comfortably) on the saddle as much as you can on a conventional saddle. This takes a little getting used to.
* the best location of the saddle is usually farther aft than a conventional saddle.
* it might fit better with the nose up slightly.
Selle Anatomica's, unlike most leather saddles, don't really need a break in period, so you should be able determine if it works for you in a short time. (It didn't work for me - I think it was too narrow.) Careful not to tighten the tensioner too much - I think it's supposed to be loser and more flexible than most leather saddles.

While what Tyrion says is all true, be aware that SelleAnatomica has written instructions and I think a video to help you get your saddle set up. I think the X is a great saddle. I've gained a little more weight, so now I usually use an H. There are a lot of adjustments to think about, but it's best to have some instructions to walk you through it. I've set up at least a dozen of them (maybe its more accurateo say I've done a dozen setups, lol), so you could PM me here or openly in the Forum if you prefer.
