No handed track stand
SO I have a Bianchi Pista (2004) and it's great and everything... but something about the geometry doesn't let me do no handed trackstands. When I take my hands off the wheel uncontrollably swings to whichever side im standing on. I can do them fine on my friends bikes, my old bike, any other frame, but not this one. I would like a frame that let's me do this. I also don't want to pay a lot. Can any of you tell me whether or not the 2009 version of the Pista can do it? From looking at photos the geometry does ook different. Or if anyone knows why this happens and if there's a fix (new fork, etc.) or ay other steel frame worth looking into.

Maybe it's a problem with your headset. Also, if you want another/newer Pista, you're probably gonna have to pay a lot.

Yeah, try slightly tightening your headset first.

I'd uninstall your headset, makes it too easy to turn.

Misunderstanding. I thought you were hinting at me being ********.
To everyone telling me to adjust my headset. I have taken it out, cleaned it, WD40'd it, greased it, reinstalled it. Is there something else I shoud do?

haha, Scrod.
But yeah, if you got the proper tools, how about trying to switch your headset with another bike that works with you? Then you'll really be able to tell if it's a problem with the geometry or the headset.

I know that everyone is entitled to do whatever they like with their bikes but is this really an issue that bothers you? I mean, is it just curiosity or are you actually pondering doing something crazy like switching bikes just because you can't track stand with no hands?

I told myself it didn't matter so much when I first got the frame. But when I'm riding with friends (or a really cute girl walks by) I'd like to not be limited. And I want to learn how to do a full backwards circle with no hands soon.

Three beautiful sentences in one post. You seem like a really deep and genuine person. Can I adopt you?

Honesty or depth? Which do you want? Is there a difference? Is one the other, but not reciprocated?
At least I'm not crackin' wise. (till now)
Are you guys serious about this winter solstice thing? I can't tell if you're joking or if I'm gullible. (same thing)

The Bullies have been surprisingly gentle in this thread. I thought the first response and every one thereafterwardsfollowing would be an insult. But the thread's still young...

Have you tried consulting with a track stand coach? Sounds like your technique maybe off.
