Weight difference, negligible. It'll lighten your wallet more than your bike. How much of an improvement it is depends on how badly you want to believe.

I think a sealed bearing headset is a huge improvement for a long-stemmed folding bike but I'd get a cheap Tange one rather than anything extravagant. The standard Brompton headset is a POS; if it's just a fraction loose then this translates to movement when pulling on the handlebars and the bike is already very flexy. So to dial out all flex the headset has to be ever-so-slightly over-tightened which can result in notchiness. The Tange headset I replaced it with has been maintenance-free and super-smooth, and is much lighter.

Cartridge bearing headsets definitely are nice but worth the expense? I don't think so. My Brompton still sports it's stock headset after a couple of years of riding in good weather, rain, sleet, snow and hail. It just works. Even my Bike Friday which sports cartridge bearings in the headset, wheels and bottom bracket still needs routine maintenance (not to mention that the externals of cartridge bearings need to be kept clean, especially BBs which I've seen fail after only a year when allowed to remain dirty) and cleaning/lubing/adjusting a 'standard' headset would add very little time to that. So AFAIC a headset is the last thing I would change over to cartridge bearings if I ever wanted to improve my Brompton... especially at ~$125 for a CK.

I have to agree with fietsbob and chagzuki. I had a CK installed a few years ago and never think about it go with because it works perfectly all the time. I cannot say it works any better than a perfectly adjusted, well lubed ball bearing headset, but they don't stay that way for me for long. Sealed bottom brackets, headsets and pedals are 3 things I really like. If bromptons could go with a belt my only maintenance would be tires, cable grease and brake pads.

I have used clear large rollerblade wheels and a cateye light to get a similar effect on the rear wheels on Brommies and Mezzos .obviously not quite as bright as its only diffused lighting. Its really good as a side light.
