Folding bikes at Grand Canyon on shuttles -- question

I've checked the GC website and it indicates that 2 to 3 bikes can be loaded on the front bus rack. Here's is a pic I found of the shuttle bus: https://panethos.files.wordpress.com.../small-bus.jpg

Based on the pic, could 16" bikes be placed on these racks? I don't see why not but then I've never put a folding bike on a bus rack. Thanks.

just from looking at it, I don't think those arms could be shortened enough to handle a 16" wheel. like nz6666 said just fold that bike up and toss it in an ikea bag.

I don't know if it is relevant; but I've never had trouble using the bus racks with 20" Dahons.

I might end up having to take the 16" onboard. Hope the driver doesn't object.

Let's hope that jobtraklite is correct in that at least a 20" will fit 'coz I don't want to have to beg the driver to let me in with 2 bikes!

If the 20" fits in front, it would help. At present, I've scaled back my plans to take 3 bikes along to just 2. My plan is to ride with a 8-year old along the rim from mid-point to Hermit's rest, which is a little over miles. If she is still good to go after that, we will ride back. But if she's pooped (not to mention that even I'm only a occasional short ride around the neighborhood type), I might have to beg a bus driver. I'm determined to enjoy the rim on a bike in any case. Worst case scenario, if I can't retrieve both bikes, I will stash the 16" in a bush and return later to get it!

Update: The driver said the bikes were too small for the outside racks but was cool with putting them on the luggage rack inside. And here's a pic enroute at the GC:

Did you fold them before putting them on the inside rack?

Yes, folded both bikes and stacked them up like a pair of books. The picture I took of the bikes on the bus turned out fuzzy, else I would put it up.

I never locked the bikes. Just left them and my belongings at every stop without a second thought. I can't imagine theft of any kind happening on the rim.
