I have the perfect solution for your 4 block commute

http://southernbellasways.com/wp-con...11/heelys3.jpg

Its all in good fun :)

Razor makes a bunch of kick scooters for adults now, and they're fantastic. The A5, A5 Air, A6, Carbon Lux,... There's no need for a folding bike if the distance is a measly 4 blocks.

ThorUSA 04-06-17 07:33 AM

wait guys
I understand where u coming from
BUT
you buy a decent bike for a very short commute and than having so much fun that you actually use the bike more and more.
Its not a bad idea to start slow and than making longer trips to get in shape with a real bike

These are my thoughts, too, Thor. Anybody looking for a bike to ride a few blocks to work is also thinking, "Hey, the bike is in my car, I might as well take it to that nice bike path on my day off." Buy those bikes and go for some rides!

In post #2 is innocent enough

Post #3 gets weird...she wants to know about Origami:

In post #4 she talks about an Origami seat cushion. Does anyone other than Paul know that Origami sells seat cushions?

Post #5 feels like Paul's normal sales pitch:

In post #6 she switches to a Crane from a Gazelle.....Gazelle, it was a Gazelle just a week before.

I really hope the admins do something about this.

Yan,

What are you insinuating? If you are implying that I wrote these posts then your fear and paranoia are getting the best of you. I can assure you that I didn't write or dictate any of these posts and if you are an honest man you will apologize and end your unfounded attacks. Playing the bully is no way to do business in a civilized society.

downtube 04-06-17 09:34 AM

I am familiar with Pingis's posts. I would guess the above was NOT written by Pingis :)

Thanks
Yan

Not a cheap option, and will you get two stridas in the trunk/boot of a car ?

Two in our Toyota Echo. They're pretty robust things that you can throw around too.

With some patience, one can typically find them at $500 - $550. I figured someone mentioned a single speed Brompton, so ...

No but I will run for Congress in 2018. I understand Bernie needs some help.

Thanks

FWIW, I've met a few people that have problems walking but can still ride. Usually issues with feet. So it's not an outright crazy search, IMO. But 4 blocks sounds short enough that it makes sense to ask whether it's necessary in the process of being helpful.

Hi Yan, it seems you have not got your facts straight at all. No, I am not the owner (you should be able to see on our profiles that he is from VA and I live in PA). I apologize for my mistake in naming the bikes. I have in fact had an Origami Gazelle for about three years (the “new” one is just an updated model), while my boyfriend has a Crane. As for the seat cover, anyone go to the company's website and see that they sell seat covers. You should take the time to get your facts straight before attacking someone innocent. My Origami bike is great and I know the company is small so I am simply trying to spread the word and get people talking. Is that not the point of this website? Now, I hope you reconsider the next time you want to slam another company. Have a good day. :)

EmmyLou, you have only six posts to your credit, all in the last 10 days and all singing the praises of Origami bikes, is there something we should know about you ?

Yes, you should know that I only found this website 11 days ago, and that I love my bike and am trying to provide lesser-known options to other riders. :)

Thank you. That is exactly what I am trying to do. I have innocent motives but it seems some people must find false alterior motives to everything, and that is sad.

Welcome Emmy Lou32
great to have you here
Don't be discouraged by the couple strange posts. That is not the norm here at all. Usually us Industry folks keep to their own bikes with help and suggestions and not comment on other brands. Lately it got a little desperate or so it seems. But again not to worry. You will find a great community here, a little quirky at times ( in a good way ) and full of wisdom.

Welcome to the fold

This showed up on the local Craigslist a while ago.

Brompton folding bike - $600 (46th/Willamette, South Eugene)

https://images.craigslist.org/00j0j_...1x_600x450.jpg

It really surprises me that it is still up there, so I can't say if it is still available. I could probably help facilitate if necessary.

Bike Fridays periodically show up in the $500 range here, but nothing cheap jumps out at me now.

Thank you very much for your kind words! It's a very nice refresher :) :D

Emmy,

Abu was quoting Pingis from another thread.....he also believes something fishy is going on.

Thanks

Are you claiming to be right just because someone else is wrong along with you? Sadly, two wrongs do not make a right (no matter how much you want to believe it)

Abu Mahendra 04-06-17 04:23 PM

Very sad.

Sorry, I don't know why I am throwing my two cents in but I am doing it ANYWAY. I, being a newcomer to the forum, also found Emmylou's post to be a bit suspicious. But hey, she cleared it up, I was obviously wrong.

No EmmaLou, what you are describing there is the active promotion of a single brand and I don't believe at all that that is the point of this forum.

But let's not get off to a bad start, if you are a folding bike enthusiast then you are in the right place and I'm sure we all look forward to receiving the benefit of even more of your biking experiences these last three years, and hearing about and perhaps even seeing photos of your exploits with your updated Origami Gazelle.

We have had endless threads that were dedicated to a single brand or product: Xooter Swift, Dahon Curl, Vilano Midtown, Tern Joe, Helix, --and that is just on page one! This was one person providing feedback that the original poster requested!

I am happy to know that this forum has provided valuable information to many people thanks to owners sharing their experiences.

Yeah, I think this piling on of EmmyLou is lame (including my extraneous comment about Gazelles. That bike has probably been around longer than I realized). When I first joined I'm sure I only commented on Dahons because I owned a new Dahon TR. I couldn't have commented on much else because I knew nothing about other folders. Hey, now I'm getting a Mosso. Guess what? I'm gonna tell you about Mossos!
