FSIR Custom build
I bought a complete bike in February 2017 in Bangkok for a bit under $600. Shortly after bringing it home, I stripped it, and sold most all original parts

Left over from the complete bike were only the frame, fork, seatpost, headset and handlepost.
Today's custom build consists of the folowing parts:
Bottom bracket - Shimano 105 BBR60
Crankset - Litepro Hollowtech with 47T chainring & integrated chain guard
Cogset - Shimano SLX 11-36T 10-speed, HG81
Dereilleur - Shimano Zee
Wheelset - custom, handbuilt 20/24
Tires - Schwalbe Marathon Supreme, folding
Saddle - Selle Royal Viper
Handlebar - Litepro Ghost
Grips - Ergon GP3
Brake levers - Avid Speed-dial 7
Brakes - Avid Digit 7
Shifter - Shimano SLX
Pedals - Wellgo C-17 with Power Grips
Range - 26-83 gear-inches
Wheelbase - 98cm
Weight - 9.5kg / 9.8kg w. Topeak Medula Java bottle cage & Tern Luggage Trus

Initial impressions
Initial impressions
The FSIR is my first single-tube, navel-fold, mast handlepost, tall seatpost folding bike, so it is a bit of novelty to me. I have to say, though, it's quite decent, quite good in fact. There is no flex, play or give anywhere. The thing is solid. I've loaded it up, and it still rides great. The cockpit is a little smaller that what i am accustomed to, but it's fine. A forward sloping handlepost could take care of that easily. Not bad, not bad at all. Under $600, it may be a top pick for affordable, no non-sense 406-wheel folder. I may yet pick up another one for the wife...

I'm interesting in the Solorock Spin 5 (which looks like the same frame) as a travel bike, since it looks like the frame should come apart easily at the pivot. Have you tried this, and if so does it pack down fairly small when separated?

It becomes a very small package if you take off the fork, which is easy, quick and clean since the headset has capsuled industrial bearings (..on my bikes) and the wheels additionaly. I didnt travel with my Spin 5.1 yet, but with my 2.0 (14" wheels). It fits into carry-on baggage.

Nicely done. Did you weigh it before you stripped it?

I completed a 900km tour of Korea on the FSIR. No mechanical issues or problems to report.
