Tern Swoop

Hey, remember when I said a hundred times I would never buy a Tern because of the recall boondoggle? Well I bought a used/cheap Swoop D7i. As far as I know that frame never had an issue, so I'm going to inspect the hinge area now and then and ride it. There's something about the older style latch I'm supposed to look out for, right? I can't remember what that was about.

Ok, man, TRY NOT TO FREAK OUT!!! Here's a lousy indoor shot, it's dark and raining outside. Check it out!

Ok, I've found the endless thread about hinges and frame bolts..including my claims I would never buy a Tern! It looks like I have the old two-bolt design so I'll keep a wrench to it. Fortunately I don't live on a giant hill anymore so I won't be doing any high-speed runs down it. This bike will get regular inspections - which all folders need anyway - and will see light duty as a flatland store runner.

Nice looking ride. I think you got a pretty good bike here. I just wanted to drool over your acquisition,...she's a hottie. With my bum knee I'm liking the step through. Enjoy!!!

Not bad for $300, eh? I've always liked that Euro step-through design and they don't make 'em anymore, so I figured why not. It's kinda huge and heavy, but it'll do the trick for short hops around down. Swoopy!
