I once parked a moped in France and secured it, to make a phone call, but I did not empty the tool pouch by the seat, holding a single screwdriver. I turned around and then back towards the moped and the screwdriver managed already to depart from the pouch. On the other hand, I regularly secured the Brompton with the Abus in provincial France and went on shopping and all was good.
Many Brompton resellers propose the Abus Bordo because it fits very well on the rear frame to carry it.

But there are a lot of Abus protected Brompton stolen, the Bordo even the high end Granit model can easily and very quickly be broken.

Its true that you can leave a Brompton not well secured in provincial France because the Brompton is almost unknown outside of the big cities.

But don't try that in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille... Same in other European big cities like Brussels, Amsterdam... where there are many Brompton and where it can easily be sold used for a high price.
