Dumb Mistake

Hi. Im new here. Im aIso new to biking and i own a tern link P9 folding bike.

To keep it short, my dumb mistake i think i accidentally destroyed the sliding lock for the folding latch on the main body by forcing it to open the latch without thinking or looking at the manual (desperation).

I know its a terrible mistake but i can still fold and unfold the bike but without the lock im not sure if its still secure for this bike to run around. Can i still fix this lock on bike shops? Is it still safe to bike around without that lock?

Thank you for the answers

Uh, I don't know what you did, but do NOT ride that bike until you have a shop look at it. Preferably a shop that actually knows about folding bikes. Be safe.

Bikes: 2014 BMC Gran Fondo, 2013 Brompton S6L-X

Safety switch makes it harder to accidentally open the latch; snagged shoe lace, bag strap, etc.
I would still ride the bike; but I'd order the parts as soon as I can. Don't think you can replace just
the switch; need to replace whole handle probably.

Try BFold in New York.
